Well, this is a fun way to kick off the new year! I know...I know, it's 18 days in, but still...

Being part of the feature on clean beauty in DHome’s Spring 2023 issue was a great experience. Make sure to grab a copy and check out pages 46-47, where I share a bit of my story and how I learned about how unregulated the beauty industry that I had been a part of was and is, along with some tips and a few of my fave clean beauty brands. Doing this feature reminds me of why I do what I do. I love doing the work/research for my clients, so they don't have to test out every new product or clean beauty brand to see whether it's genuinely safer and, bottom line, performs. I educate then I still get to create. Meshing the best of both worlds for me. 

And even though I've been on one of my social media breaks, it doesn't mean I'm not working with my clients or new ones on the daily. There isn't a better time than starting the year by cleaning up your beauty routine. Clean Full Coverage Foundation that Works!

Finally, a clean full coverage foundation that doesn't cake up and looks luminous all day long 🙌✨ You know I'm all about toxin-free beauty products, but I'm also about efficacy and performance 👆 As a makeup artist, the products I use must have the wearability to last all day! Pro Tips for Eye Makeup Behind Glasses

Just because you wear glasses doesn't mean you ixnay on the eye makeup! I wear contacts most of the time, but I love wearing my eyeglasses 🤓 Think of them as another accessory, a statement piece✨

Here are some pro makeup tips to keep your peepers front & center when they're behind glasses. Here I am in great light (no filter) wearing some of my favorites glasses…yes, I’m obsessed with frames!

• Make sure you wear concealer. Eyeglasses can enhance dark circles.

• Prime your eyes before eyeshadow with concealer (set with powder) or eyeshadow primer. Eyelids can get super oily under glasses.

• Up your eyeshadow game a few notches. You want the shadow to be more dramatic than your basic everyday application. And don't forget the liner and loads of mascara...go smokey or winged, it will look gorgeous!

• Apply highlighter in the inner eye area, brow bone and the outer eye area where it meets the top of the cheekbone (reflects light to reduce the appearance of fine lines)

• And don't forget a lippy! Neutral or bold will look great! I love wearing bold lipstick!

Clean Beauty Lipliners

Let's chat clean beauty lipliners! Since Beautycounter doesn't offer lip liners at this time, I've had to test and try out different clean versions. Here are my favorites and color suggestions for most lipstick colors. 

Try to not be distracted by my messy handwriting to see my lipliner suggestions to coordinate with Beautycounter's Color Intense Lipstick shades. 

Lipliners are fantastic with keeping lipstick from creeping into the little fine lines, helps with longer lipstick wear and to change up lipstick colors. Don't be afraid to use with lip gloss as well!

RMS Daytime Nude - The perfect neutral for light to medium skin tones.

RMS Nighttime Nude - Deeper neutral for all skin tones.

Jane Iredale Earth Red - Warm burnt red

Jane Iredale Plum - Cool deep plum

Pro tip: You don't need an exact match of lip liner to lipstick. RMS Daytime Nude or Nighttime Nude depending on skin tone can be used for reds, plums, etc.
